Stuart Reid

Welcome – thanks for visiting my website, which covers my work and varied interests in software testing.Photo of Stuart Reid

I am a software testing consultant and CTO of STA Consulting, who are based in Seoul.  For that reason, I spend 3 or 4 months a year in Korea.  Some of the remaining months I travel for work, meetings and conferences around the world, while the rest of my time is spent working from home in Oxfordshire, England.

I provide consultancy and perform research in software testing and agile development (my PhD was in the effectiveness of software testing techniques and I have more recently led a project that developed an agile methodology for use by Korean SMEs).  Currently my main interests are in testing AI-based and autonomous systems.  I also lead the ISO working group developing software testing standards.  Previously, I founded the ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) to provide a global certification scheme for professional testers.

For more details about my consultancy, research areas, work on standards and interest in career development for testers follow this link.

You can download about 20 white papers and articles from this site covering a wide range of software testing areas.  These papers cover such topics as the testing of autonomous systems, specific techniques for testing automotive systems, testing in agile development, motivating testers, innovation in software testing and applying reviews.   If you are interested in reading any of my white papers and articles on software testing, please visit this page.

I regularly speak at conferences and you will find downloads for most of my conference presentations for the last few years here.

Please contact me with any requests on what should be added – and what should be changed – on this website.

Thanks again,  Stuart
